The first coordination meeting with macro-regions within the GLOBAL2030 project took place online yesterday, on the 13th of May 2026. The event was organised by the Coordination Group on Global Policy Dialogue (CG GPD) and brought together representatives of regional recognition conventions, regional higher education areas, quality assurance networks, higher education institutions’ associations, as well as representatives of international and regional organisations.
The meeting focused on the preparation of two relevant policy documents for the global policy dialogue in higher education: the first draft of the Global Policy Forum Statement to be adopted in Iași and Chișinău in May 2027 and the outline of the Roadmap for international cooperation in higher education beyond 2030.
The agenda also included updates on the organisation of the 2027 Iași-Chișinău Ministerial Conference and Global Policy Forum, followed by open discussions on the structure, scope and content of the two draft documents.
Two additional coordination meetings with macro-regions will be organised within the GLOBAL2030 project, supporting the continued development of these policy documents and the preparation of the 2027 Global Policy Forum.
The aim of the GLOBAL 2030 project, coordinated by UEFISCDI and implemented together with the Ministry of Education and Research of Romania, the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova, CIMEA, EURASHE and UNESCO, is to support the global policy dialogue of the EHEA for the 2024-2027 working period.
